What is Emetophobia?

Emetophobia is the fear of vomiting or the fear of others vomiting. Unlike many common phobias, such as public speaking, heights, snakes, or flying, the fear of vomit can be pervasive and all-consuming. Most people with phobias can avoid the object of their fear and go about their lives with relatively little disruption. If you’re afraid of elevators, take the stairs. If you’re afraid of freeways, drive on surface streets. Fear clowns? Avoid the circus. A fear of vomit is different because (cont.)
